    • 8 ¾ -inch-thick slices brioche or egg bread

    • 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella packed in water, drained and cut in thin slices.

    • ¾ pound of Cooked Ham cut into thin slices.

    • 4 ounces of softened sweet butter

To prepare the grilled Ham and Mozzarella cheese sandwich, brush one side of each slice of bread with the softened butter. On four slices of bread place the ham slices about (3 slices per sandwich), top with the slices of fresh mozzarella and 4 leaves each of fresh basil. Top with another slice of bread with the buttered side down. this will give you a total of 4 sandwiches.

Start by heating the grill pan with its cover top for about 7-8 minutes over medium heat or until the top of the griddle reaches a temperature of 425 degrees.

Then reduce the heat to medium low

Now brush the outside of each of the 4 sandwiches with the softened butter and grill the sandwich with the grill cover on top for a total of 3-4 minutes per side, until the bread  is grilled on both sides and cooked through Serve while the sandwiches are still hot and the fresh mozzarella has softened.

For a more elegant look turn the sandwich about a ¾ turn

after 2 minutes to get the perfect crisscross markings, make sure that when you cook the sandwiches on both sides you use the grill cover, its weight will help you get the best grill marks and it will allow you to cook the sandwich to perfection.
