These two pans, 9.5 inches each, are named Beddu e Duci.
In Sicilian dialect, it means: ”The good looking one and the sweet one”.
These pans go as far back as My “Family Kitchen” TV series and that is almost 17 years ago! For nearly 8 years, they were my exclusive “go-to” for making my weekend omelets. They always were stored together, and I always cooked with both of them when making my omelets.
I know that either Beddu or Duci will give you a great time, I hope they will not tell you how many omelets I burned before I got it right…let’s just say it was a journey.
Beddu and Duci made me victorious!
My wife caught me staring at them as I pulled them from storage.
“Beddu e Duci ! “ she whispered, then she looked at me, wiping off the dust from each of them as if saying goodbye to an old friend. She did not make fun of me. Like me, she felt the same way.
Of all my tools, these two are the least marked. Their usage was exclusive to the omelet making and nothing else. They made me look good…and I am a bit of a klutz sometimes.
