1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1 cup plain bread crumbs
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons grated Romano or Parmigiano Reggiano cheese

Yields 1 1/2 cups
Brush a nonstick saute pan with the olive oil and heat over medium heat for 1 minute. Add the bread crumbs and cook, stirring, until brown, about 2 minutes.
Transfer to a bowl, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well. Let the mixture come to room temperature, then store in an airtight container or reclosable plastic bag.
