Cauliflower with Nutmeg
1 pound cauliflower florests
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat the oven to 400 F. Place the cauliflower in an 8 inch square baking dish. Pour the milk over the cauliflower, sprinkle with the nutmeg, salt and pepper. Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes. Remove the cauliflower with a slotted spoon and serve with some of the hot milk spooned on top.
The leftover milk can be strained and saved for several days in the refrigerator for use in making Bechamel Sauce. You won't need to add nutmeg to the sauce recipe.
