Sfogliata Di Mele
1 (12-inch) circle puff pastry, thawed
3 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons butter, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Preheat the oven to 475 F.
Place the pastry on a greased baking sheet. Arrange the apples on top in a spiral design, leaving a 1-inch border all around. Sprinkle with the sugar and scatter with the butter pieces. Bake in the preheated oven until the puff pastry rises and the edges of the apples are slightly charred, about 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and dust with the powdered sugar.
To heighten the flavor, brush the top of the cooked tart with 3 tablespoons of melted apple jelly and then dust with the powdered sugar.
